First time for splines, lock mitres, and cutting the 'swoop' on the lid. I still have to flock it as well, which will be a first for me. It is all recycled wood except for the lid top. That is a piece of cedar I had on my left over wood shelf. The banana one for scale is out of focus ...

Nice work, as usual.

My woodshop is just a good lotto ticket away... orjust clean the garage, but the lotto ticket probably has better odds.

... man if I won the lotto, the toys I would buy ... a bigger lathe so I could turn things up to twenty inches across ... a bigger band saw ... a new cabinet table saw ... an accu-slice jig ... a thickness sander ... a 24" thickness planer ... a new wider jointer ... foredom power carver ... and enough clamps to kill me if they all fell on me at once. And then

When I was in high school, they built a new school. I had a choice.. one of the reason I decided to go to the new school was because the woodshop tools were all brand new industrial grade tools.

I never took any carpentry/woodworking courses in high school. I took the grade ten automotives course, and then electricity and electronics courses as shop electives. But other then physed, everything else was geared towards senior matriculation for university entrance.
